New Hampshire PFAS Rebate Program for Private Wells
New Hampshire offers funding to help eligible private well owners pay for PFAS treatment. Through the PFAS Removal Rebate Program for Private Wells, qualifying homeowners may receive up to $5,000 for a PFAS treatment system or up to $10,000 to connect to a public water system.
Who is eligible?
This program is open to owners of residential properties in New Hampshire with a private drinking water well impacted by PFAS. To qualify, the homeowner must not already have alternate water provided by a third party, whether temporary or permanent.
How to apply
Homeowners can apply online, by mail, by email, or by hand delivery. Both an electronic application and a printable form are available. Applications are accepted as long as funding remains available. A separate application is required for each residential address, and the application must be submitted within 12 months of completing the treatment system installation or public water connection.
How to know if your well qualifies
To qualify, applicants must provide a certified laboratory test report showing that their private well has PFAS levels above one or more New Hampshire or EPA Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLs). The water sample must have been taken within three years before the treatment system was installed or the public water connection was completed.
